***Dr Sanger is involved with several volunteer organizations.
***Dr. Sanger is currently the Chairman for the Monroe County Dental Careers Program. This program is for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a career in Dentistry.
They have met several times throughout the fall to learn more about what Dentistry has to offer.
The meetings included an introductory meeting where the program was described. They had a night of hands on learning and were able to work with providers learning how to use a dental handpiece, place composite restorations, place sealants, learn about periodontics, orthodontics and impressions and models. The next meeting was held at Get It Straight Orthodontics in Greece and they learned about several different specialties including oral surgery and endodontics. That meeting was followed by a trip to a local dental laboratory, RTG. The students were able to tour the facility and see how dental restortions, including dentures, crowns and bridges are fabricated. They concluded this program with a trip to the University of Buffalo Dental School.
***Dr. Sanger has participated in the Give Back a Smile Program, through The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation's (AACDCF), their mission is to assist in rebuilding the lives and dignity of survivors of domestic violence through compassionate cosmetic dental services and support programs) and DDS-Donated Dental Services (The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program is a collaborative, direct way that dental professionals reaches out to individuals with special needs). Dr Sanger also is accredited to treat patients with special needs at Strong Memorial Hospital.
***Dr. Sanger is currently involved in a six month study for Special Needs Dentistry through the Eastman Dental School.
***February is Children's Dental Health Month! Our hygienists, Kara and Laurel will be heading out in our community and discusseing dental hygiene with many children! They will be attending schools in the city of Rochester and Greece at Lakeshore Elementary.
***Dr. Sanger is a proud sponsor of several local events, including The 2011 Run for the Young, an event to support the Diocese of Rochester's Youth Advocacy Fund. He also is supporter of the Camp Good Days.
